Hise was born to Manubhai Gadhvi, a renowned and much revered speaker, socialite and orator. His father also tried films during his young age, afterwards he quit films and focused on social work.
He made his directorial debut with Tere Liye (2000) which went unnoticed. His first film with Yash Raj Films was Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002). The film enjoyed moderate success.
He first gained fame when he directed the action thriller Dhoom (2004). The film was a huge hit and practically revived the careers of the actors and actresses starring in the film.
He then directed the sequel to Dhoom, called Dhoom 2. The film starred three of the main actors from the previous film: Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Rimi Sen. Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu were also in the film. The film, famous for its stunts, came out as the highest grosser of 2006.
